Andrew Hanson Andrew Hanson is the founder of Coding Inertia LLC, a private software consulting company located in Boise, Idaho. So private in fact that he's the only one that's been let in. Andrew cut his development teeth while programming for the United States Air Force where he's sure he killed the souls of many accountants by writing incredibly boring financial software. Andrew then spent the next 9 years working for both small and large companies developing applications using mainly Microsoft .Net technologies before going out on his own in 2008 as a freelance developer specializing in Microsoft .Net and Agile software development. Andrew loves writing SQL just not the boring kind (which is ALL of it!) He currently lives Boise, Idaho with his wife and 2 children where in addition to programming he enjoys mountain biking and occasionally running through the trails in the Boise foothills. Arnie Rowland During his career as a outspoken architect and application developer dealing with very large databases, Arnie realized that most issues between Developer and DBA comes from incomplete communication and a misunderstanding of each other's responsibilities. As a frequent Trainer and Mentor for Developers and Database Administrators, he has nurtured a knack for helping to 'bridge the gap'. Arnie is a rare mix of expert developer and gifted database developer/administrator, bringing both sets of skills to better communicate with development teams to create a working solution. Arnie is a Microsoft SQL Server MVP and has been a Subject Matter Expert (SME) working on SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 training courses and was involved as a SME with the development of the SQL 2008 Microsoft Certification Exams. He is also a Microsoft Certified Trainer, and has served as a technical editor for several publishers, including multiple SQL Sever 2005/2008 titles in the Microsoft Official Curriculum. Arnie has served as adjunct faculty at the University and Community College levels. Clients include Multi-National and Fortune 500 companies, Federal and State agencies, Foreign governments, nationally recognized training facilities, and local enterprises –both public and private. In addition to being a pilot and flight instructor, he holds post-graduate degrees and is an avid bicyclist, sailor, and diver. Blog: http://sqlblog.com/blogs/arnie_rowland/ Arnie is a Senior Moderator on the MSDN and TechNet SQL Server related Forums. Ben Whitaker Founder/Owner of RIA Fox Inc Adobe Certified Expert in Flex 3.2/AIR Developing websites and Internet applications since 1997 Bill Moore Introduction Bill Moore has over fourteen years of Software Development experience in which his primary skillset had been in the middle-tier and database work. That was until the release of Silverlight and WPF. These new technologies ignited a burning passion for doing UI work and expanded the limits of what he thought was possible. Over the last couple years, Bill and his wife, Marquette, have started Coden Enterprises and Coden UX to provide leadership and technical consulting focused around those technologies. He has spent a lot of time getting up to speed on the Adobe Suite, as they make a perfect complement to the tools provided by Microsoft. He spends a lot of time presenting and trying to get the word out about Silverlight. The Silverlight Journey So Far I have been involved in the Silverlight community since the early summer of 2008. I really picked up an interest for Silverlight around the time they released version 2.0. Since that time, I have presented talks on Silverlight to code camps, businesses, an MSDN Event, and I did an interview recently for a podcast on Pluralsite.com. The podcast also featured John Papa , of whom I am a big fan. I am active on Twitter, talking about Silverlight on most days, as I have enjoyed seeing people's attitudes toward the technology shift as the product gets more widespread adoption and exposure. I have also spent the last little while getting re-know my UI side. As a result, I have spent the last year really learning how to leverage the platform which included some heavy duty training on my part with the Adobe Products, and ,to a lesser extent thanks to my .Net background, the Expression Suite of products. I really wanted to understand the design process from all sides, as a user, a developer, and a designer. I am currently a level 3 devigner. I feel that Silverlight is a very innovative technology and have really enjoyed sharing my knowledge and experience. I am really excited to be presented with an opportunity to share my passion about Silverlight with user groups in different areas.
